On the shores of the Kauearanga valley river, Kauearanga Valley Christian Camp has operated as a youth camp since the 1970’s providing a wide range of activities for the youth of New Zealand. Studio 7’s initial brief was to provide additional capacity and a modernisation of the facilities.
Following our property report process, we produced a master plan to enable the existing facilities to be upgraded in stages and provision of new facilities for multiple camps. The design connects the new and existing buildings, addressing the potential flooding from the river and provision of communal spaces that capture the views of the of the natural surroundings.
